Jul. 29 9:19 PM PT10:19 PM MT11:19 PM CT12:19 AM ET5:19 AM GMT1:19 PM 北京时间-The White Sox have scratched Bartolo Colon from Wednesday's start against the Minnesota Twins because of soreness in his right elbow.
Analysis: A team spokesman says he will be evaluated again at the Metrodome on Wednesday. Colon is 3-6 with a 4.19 ERA in 12 starts for the White Sox this season. He spent nearly eight weeks on the disabled list with inflammation in his left knee. But he returned on Friday to pitch seven strong innings in a loss to Detroit.
Jul. 8 4:46 PM PT5:46 PM MT6:46 PM CT7:46 PM ET12:46 AM GMT8:46 AM 北京时间-Colon, whose whereabouts had been uncertain a day earlier, is now expected to join the Chicago White Sox's Triple-A team in Charlotte and make his scheduled injury rehab start Thursday, a spokesman said.
Analysis: White Sox general manager Ken Williams said Tuesday the team wasn't sure where Colon was. He was put on the disabled list June 9 and had been in Arizona rehabbing a sore knee and working on his pitching before making a rehab start. Colon is 3-6 with a 4.23 ERA in 11 starts this season and has given up 12 homers. If Colon does well in a couple of rehab starts, he could rejoin the White Sox and perhaps pitch in one game of a doubleheader July 24 against the Tigers.
Jul. 24 11:14 PM PT12:14 AM MT1:14 AM CT2:14 AM ET7:14 AM GMT3:14 PM 北京时间-Colon was removed from the disabled list Friday and is expected to pitch the second game of Friday's double header against Detroit.
Analysis: Colon, who was on the DL with inflammation in his left knee, is 3-6 with a 4.23 ERA in 11 starts this season. He tied a career-high by allowing four home runs in a loss to Cleveland on June 7, and has allowed 12 homers in 11 starts this season.
Jun. 8 1:22 PM PT2:22 PM MT3:22 PM CT4:22 PM ET9:22 PM GMT5:22 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up six runs, five earned, including four homers in five innings of an 8-4 loss to Cleveland on Sunday.
Analysis: He was booed repeatedly by the home crowd. Colon's 4.23 ERA is not terrible, but his 1.50 WHIP would seemingly make it hard to maintain that number.
Jun. 3 12:46 PM PT1:46 PM MT2:46 PM CT3:46 PM ET8:46 PM GMT4:46 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up five runs, two earned, and six hits in 5 1-3 innings for the White Sox in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to Oakland.
Analysis: He was originally scheduled to start Monday, but the club decided to give the veteran right-hander an extra day of rest. "Most of the time Colon needs to be perfect to get it going and he wasn't today," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said.
May 27 3:17 PM PT4:17 PM MT5:17 PM CT6:17 PM ET11:17 PM GMT7:17 AM 北京时间-Colon worked 6 2-3 innings, his longest outing since April 28, and earned his first win since that game in Tuesday night's 4-2 road victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Analysis: Colon (3-4, 3.80 ERA) pitched seven innings in a victory over Seattle on April 28 and threw six scoreless innings Tuesday before giving up Bobby Abreu's solo homer in the seventh. He will iikely next start Monday night at home against Oakland. Colon is 6-4 with a 3.74 ERA in 14 career starts versus the A's.
May 22 11:46 AM PT12:46 PM MT1:46 PM CT2:46 PM ET7:46 PM GMT3:46 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up eight runs over two innings in Thursday's 20-1 loss to visiting Minnesota, but seven were unearned.
Analysis: Colon, who has lost three of his last four starts, has given up one earned run in his last two starts, lowering his ERA to 4.88 to 4.23.
May 17 11:29 AM PT12:29 PM MT1:29 PM CT2:29 PM ET7:29 PM GMT3:29 AM 北京时间-Colon pitched five shutout innings but couldn't earn his first victory in May as the White Sox fell 2-1 in Toronto on Saturday.
Analysis: Colon (2-3, 4.21 ERA) did break a streak of consecutive defeats and had given up five runs for the third time in six starts in his previous outing.
May 5 9:52 AM PT10:52 AM MT11:52 AM CT12:52 PM ET5:52 PM GMT1:52 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up three runs over five innings Monday in a 3-0 loss to Zack Greinke and the Royals.
Analysis: The White Sox were happy with Colon. "Colon was good _ he was just competing against the wrong guy," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said.
Apr. 29 11:11 AM PT12:11 PM MT1:11 PM CT2:11 PM ET7:11 PM GMT3:11 AM 北京时间-Colon improved to 2-1 this season with a win over Seattle on Tuesday.
Analysis: Colon allowed on unearned run over seven innings whilee striking out a season-high six. Colon had lost his last start after not receiving a decision in the previous outing. He has a 4.15 ERA this season.
Apr. 24 10:40 AM PT11:40 AM MT12:40 PM CT1:40 PM ET6:40 PM GMT2:40 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up five runs, eight hits and two walks in three innings in Chicago's 6-2 loss to Baltimore on Thursday night.
Analysis: It was his shortest start since July 23, 2007, against Oakland as a member of the Los Angeles Angels. Colon permitted 10 of 19 batters to reach base in his first loss since returning to the White Sox as a free agent during the offseason.
Apr. 12 12:00 PM PT1:00 PM MT2:00 PM CT3:00 PM ET8:00 PM GMT4:00 AM 北京时间-Colon pitched six strong innings to lead Chicago to an 8-0 victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
Analysis: After a rough spring training, Colon handled the Twins' lineup with relative ease. He allowed just three hits with two walks and two strikeouts, helping the White Sox end a three-game skid. Colon (1-0) is back with Chicago after going 15-13 in 2003 with a 3.87 ERA. He went on to win the 2005 AL Cy Young Award as a member of the Angels, but has made just 35 starts since because of injuries.
Apr. 11 5:35 PM PT6:35 PM MT7:35 PM CT8:35 PM ET1:35 AM GMT9:35 AM 北京时间-Colon gave up four runs and three hits over 1 2-3 innings in Chicago's 11-7 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Monday. The right-hander walked two and struck out one in his first appearance since offseason surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow.
Analysis: Manager Ozzie Guillen called Colon's location "erratic," but said, "His velocity was good enough ... I'm satisfied with what he did." The White Sox hope to insert Colon into the starting rotation, though Guillen indicated he does not expect the veteran to be on the opening-day roster. Colon will pitch in a minor league game on Friday. "We have to careful," Guillen said. "We're not in a hurry with him."
