MATCH REACTION Jason Roberts sparked a great comeback from Blackburn, as the striker grabbed himself a couple of goals in a brilliant second half display. Portsmouth were bright, but the exit of Aruna Dindane early in the second half affected Portsmouth's forward play. On-loan midfielder Jamie O'Hara was unable to control the game like he did in the first half and as lady luck would have it everything David Dunn touched seemed to reach a Blackburn player. Ryan Nelsen headed home Blackburn's second goal and his second Rovers career goal before Roberts sealed the win with a late third. This was a very good second half performance from Blackburn and a deserved victory for the home team.

PORTSMOUTH VIEW Portsmouth have been on fire in front of goal scoring eight goals in the last two outings. Paul Hart has kept with the in-form Anura Dindane and Frederic Piquonne up front while Jamie O'Hara continues in midfield after a fantastic start to his Pompey career since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. Despite what you hear in the press, Portsmouth's performances haven't been all that bad this season and Paul Hart has done well to get his to ignore the off-field circus goings on at Fratton Park. After being written off as relegation certainties in the opening months of the season, two decent results on the bounce have given Hart's side hope that they can avoid the drop.

HOME TEAM VIEW Rovers will be out to avenge last week's defeat away to Manchester United. They welcome back Morten Gamst Pedersen who comes in for Keith Andrews. Rovers have been leaking goals of late and Christopher Samba and Ryan Nelsen will have their work cut out keeping the free-scoring Aruna Dindane quiet this afternoon. Blackburn's home form has been good this season and could be what helps them to see off an in-form Pompey side today.

PREVIEW A relegation battle will commence! Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth will be keen to move out of the relegation zone ASAP. Sam Allardyce only this morning has spoken about the difficulties of getting out of the dreaded ‘R' word. A win for Pompey at Ewood Park would see them leapfrog Blackburn and fellow strugglers Hull City. For Pompey, things may be looking up - Paul Hart's team saw off Wigan 4-0 last week with Aruna Dindane grabbing a hat-trick. Subsequently, Big Sam has spoken about his admiration for the Ivory Coast forward - likewise Pompey midfielder Aaron Mokoena has spoken of his desire to see Benni McCarthy in a Portsmouth shirt. Transfer talk can wait until January, by then one or both of these clubs may be out of the ‘R' zone or in serious trouble. A repeat of the 2-0 win for Rovers in this fixture last season will be just the tonic for Allardyce, but I'm sure Paul Hart will have other ideas…
